The Structural Engineer will perform design and calculations of on-going and upcoming projects based of allocated budget.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The principal accountabilities will include the following functions:
- Design of steel structures (offshore, subsea,…), using FEA and hand calculations, according to relevant design codes (API, AISC, ASME, etc.) and class regulations (DNV, ABS, etc.)
- Design of subsea foundations for heavy structures (gravity base, suction pile)
- Design of cathodic protection for subsea structures
- Coordinate with the draftsman to prepare the drawings
- Preparation of the reports and follow up with client/class comments
- Structural verifications varying from simple steel structure to advanced mechanical assembly including nonlinear behaviour (contacts, pre-stressed elements, etc.)
REQUIREMENTS
- A good bachelor degree in Mechanical, Civil or General Engineering from a reputable university
- Post-graduate self-improvement via training or part-time qualifications is added advantage
- Software knowledge: ANSYS, ABAQUS, ISYMOST/NSO, Stadpro
